Love yourself extra hard on the days it hurts more.

Healing is a frustrating process. Don’t be hard on yourself for the days you feel like you’ve taken a few steps back. Instead, love yourself more on those days because it’s important to be aware that hurting is apart of the process of healing. 🤍

If you wait until you are ready, you will end up waiting for the rest of your life. Do not let fear hold you back from reaching your dreams.

Someone mentioned something similar to me and it really stuck out. I feel like with everything going on, it’s easy to get lost in your head and also feel stuck. Please know that it’s normal to feel that way but your potential is unlimited and is waiting to be unlocked. Don’t wait for the right time to reach for your dreams because there’ll never be a right time. You got this.🤍

Life is not about dwelling on the choices you could have made. It is about understanding the choices you did make needed to happen this way for a reason. Perhaps the outcome of this, saved you from a far more unfavourable outcome of what could have been.

The choices you made have brought you here today for a reason, it it was meant to be any other way it would have happened. I know it hurts and I know you don’t deserve to deal with the pain but I also know you’re going to be so much better after you overcome what you’re going through, I also know that you wouldn’t be the person you are today if things had been any other way and I think you have an amazing soul and I’m glad you’re you. Everything’s going to be okay.🤍

PS. Don’t feel upset over the choices you’ve made, it brought you here for a reason and I’m proud of you.🤍

Self care includes saying no.

I know this is a simple reminder but honestly I think for a long time I struggled with the idea of saying “no”. I feel like when you spend so much time trying to make sure others are okay you end up doing things that don’t make you feel okay. 

It stems from wanting to not disappoint others and also people pleasing but it’s okay to say no!! Seriously please say no and still understand that they won’t think less of you for it and IF they do then please know you deserve better than them.🤍

Healing doesn't mean it stops hurting. It means you have decided to do something about the hurt and I am proud of you.

It is normal to have days where everything feels great and you’re happy and it’s also normal to have days where for some reason everything reminds you of the things you’re trying to heal from and I wanted to tell you both days are okay. 

The hurt won’t last forever but in order to overcome it you have to embrace the healing process and so far you’ve been doing amazing. DON'T let a bad day seem like a setback. It’s all apart of the journey. Take care of yourself today 🤍

PS.  Today I found myself asking why after a very long time. I feel like I’ve been very good lately with understanding that even the things I don’t understand need to happen for a reason but today it just hurt a little bit and I couldn’t help but ask why again, so if you're feeling the same as me, just know you’re not alone and it’s okay.

It is okay...

 .. to admit you are not okay and still understand you will be one day. Just not today.

You do not always have to put on a brave face for everyone. It’s okay to admit you aren’t okay but it’s also important to know that just because you aren’t okay today doesn’t mean you won’t be okay one day. 

Life can be very confusing and hurtful at times, but it is also amazing and rewarding. Things may be hard right now but I’m rooting for your happiness and wishing things get better for you. You’re going to be okay. I promise.🤍

When sweet memories turn into bitter reminders, take it as a sign that it is time to let go of what once was. There is a reason you are no longer there and that is okay.

This realisation is a bittersweet one for sure but it does show you the growth you’ve made over time without even realising it. The memories you once held were sweet but overtime people change, circumstances change and what once was may not longer even be who you are and that’s okay.🤍

You don't have to...

 ... continue to do something that makes you unhappy just because you have invested time into it.

Life is all about choices, that time might seem like a lot right now but it’ll be so insignificant down the road. We spend too much time being unhappy because we think that’s the only way, it’s not. Do things that make you happy because life is too short to look back and realise that job wasn’t worth it, the relationship wasn’t for me, the friendship was hurtful, my aspirations became a distant dream. Choose wisely 🤍 

PS. So if you’re holding on because of “time wasted” ask yourself: in 20 years time, what will feel more like a waste?

Boundaries.

If you are afraid to set a boundary with someone because of how they will negatively react. Take it as proof that the boundary is necessary.

Boundaries are important to protect your inner peace from those who try to take it away from you. Trust your gut instinct and their reaction will prove enough to you about your decision 🤍
